Visit Dubai to Offer Single-, Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa Applications

Is AED 200 really the full visa price? A look at VAT, reported AED 255 and AED 355 fees, airline and hotel booking conditions, nationality eligibility and the planned Visit Dubai launch.

By Published: Dubai, UAE

DUBAI, 4 November 2026 — Following the announcement of tourist visa applications through Visit Dubai, travellers are seeing references to visas costing AED 200. But a base government fee is not the same as the amount a visitor ultimately pays. Flight, accommodation, VAT, insurance and provider-specific conditions deserve scrutiny before anybody books.

Dubai announced on 1 November that single-entry and multiple-entry tourist visa applications would be integrated into the Visit Dubai tourism platform. The move is intended to make travel planning easier. Yet Visit Dubai's official visa page still says direct applications are “Coming soon” as of this publication date. Details of the new service should not be presented as final before launch.

The facts behind the headlines

  • AED 200 is not an all-inclusive tourist visa quote. Taxes and applicable services can increase the amount payable.
  • DubaiVisa.com's reported fee figures are AED 255 + VAT (30 days) and AED 355 + VAT (60 days). These are not the same figures currently displayed as base fees on GDRFA's published service page.
  • The “80 countries” claim needs context: Visit Dubai discusses visa on arrival eligibility for more than 80 countries, not a published 80-country cap on the upcoming application service.
  • Flight and hotel bookings can be conditions of certain visa routes. Emirates-based and hotel-linked arrangements must be checked separately; their conditions are not yet established as universal rules for the new Visit Dubai channel.
  • The new direct application service is not fully launched according to Visit Dubai's current public page.

Is a Dubai tourist visa really AED 200?

Not as a guaranteed final customer price. The GDRFA Dubai single-entry tourist visa service page currently lists a government base fee of AED 200 for 30 days and AED 300 for 60 days, plus 5% VAT. It also cautions that total charges can vary by circumstances. Those numbers should not be advertised as an inclusive price for every traveller.

In DubaiVisa.com's visa-price assessment, the fee figures used for comparison are AED 255 plus VAT for 30 days and AED 355 plus VAT for 60 days. They should not be confused with the base figures published on the GDRFA page, nor represented as the final fee schedule for the still-upcoming Visit Dubai service.

Reported comparison fee · 60 daysAED 355 + VATDubaiVisa.com's supplied fee figure; not verified as Visit Dubai's official final price.

At 5% VAT, those supplied figures would be AED 267.75 and AED 372.75 respectively, before any further applicable services or travel costs. The final all-in amount should always be shown clearly before payment.

Do travellers have to buy Emirates tickets and hotel bookings?

Travellers should pay particular attention to this condition. Emirates offers its own prearranged UAE visa service, and airline-sponsored applications can carry flight-related eligibility requirements. Separately, the UAE government's tourist visa guidance states that visas arranged through travel agencies and hotels can be tied to tickets and hotel reservations booked through those providers.

That means a low-looking visa fee cannot always be compared directly with an independent visa application quote. A traveller may also need to budget for air tickets, a hotel stay, insurance or other services connected to the chosen application channel.

What remains unconfirmed: No published launch documentation reviewed here establishes that all applicants using the upcoming Visit Dubai direct service must purchase an Emirates-operated flight and an Emirates-linked hotel booking. DubaiVisa.com recommends verifying any such condition in writing before payment.

Is the service limited to only 80 countries?

The number 80 is being confused with a different entry category. Visit Dubai says nationals of more than 80 countries may obtain a visa on arrival. Those visitors typically do not need the same prearranged tourist visa application as travellers who are ineligible for visa on arrival.

The announced new Visit Dubai service has not published a confirmed list restricting applications to exactly 80 countries. Until the supported-nationality list is available, it would be misleading either to promise eligibility for everyone or to insist the service is limited to 80 countries.

Will the same approval rules apply across all UAE emirates?

The announcement concerns Visit Dubai and identifies GDRFA Dubai as the authority responsible for assessing and issuing applications through that channel. It does not set out a universal arrangement for every emirate or visa scenario. Nationality, residency, immigration history and individual application circumstances may affect eligibility and outcomes.

A new website does not mean guaranteed approval or a bypass of immigration checks. Travellers should verify the relevant issuing authority and conditions for their application.

Why the service should still be treated as a future launch

The new Visit Dubai direct application function is described as coming soon on the official platform. Although the initiative was announced for introduction during November, it would be premature to publish an all-inclusive price, a definitive nationality list or universal ticket-and-hotel conditions as established features of a system that has not yet fully launched.

Travel companies and content creators should avoid presenting preliminary details as confirmed customer terms.

How DubaiVisa.com approaches pricing transparency

DubaiVisa.com believes customers deserve an accurate explanation of the service they are buying, the amount due before checkout and the documents required for their own circumstances. The aim is to make the price and scope of the visa service clear in advance, rather than drawing attention with a low government-only fee.

For eligible travellers, DubaiVisa.com offers online applications for available 14-day, 30-day and 60-day tourist visa options, with human WhatsApp assistance and a clear application process. Any separately required travel purchases or special conditions should be identified before the customer commits.

What should visitors ask before paying?

  • Is the advertised fee the base government charge or the complete payable total?
  • Does the quoted price include VAT, insurance and processing or agency service fees?
  • Is a flight on a particular airline compulsory for this application route?
  • Must the hotel be booked through a specified provider, and is it refundable?
  • Is my passport nationality eligible for the exact visa route being offered?
  • Which immigration authority will process the application?
  • What charges, if any, are refundable if the application is refused?

Frequently asked questions
