Dubai Visa for Nepali Residents in Australia

Nepali passport holders living in Australia need a visa before entering Dubai for a holiday or visit. An Australian student visa, work visa or permanent residence does not give a Nepali passport holder automatic visa on arrival.

Start with your travel passport, current Australian visa record and Dubai dates. You can begin an online application from Australia, with the available visa category checked against your passport and travel details.

Does Australian residence give Nepali travellers visa on arrival?

No. Nepal is not on the Dubai Airports visa-on-arrival list. It is also outside the nationality list in ICP's June 2026 residence-based eligibility update, even though Australia is a qualifying residence country for the nationalities that are included.

A UAE visa for Nepalese residents in Australia therefore needs to be arranged before a tourist visit. Your Australian immigration document supports your residence details; the approved UAE visa gives permission to travel for the Dubai visit.

Choose a visa for your Dubai dates

For a Dubai tourist visa for Nepalis in Australia, check how long you'll stay and how many times you'll enter the UAE. Open the relevant option below, then confirm its availability for your passport before paying.

The 14-day service must be checked separately for Nepali applicants. Australian residence alone does not qualify a Nepali passport for ICP's specific 14-day residence-based category.

Documents to prepare in Australia

Use clear colour copies of the documents you'll travel with. Keep the whole passport information page visible, including the text at the bottom.

  • Nepali passport: the information page, with at least six months' validity for the tourist visa route.
  • Passport front cover: a separate image, as requested in the online application.
  • Recent photograph: a clear colour photo on a plain background.
  • Australian visa evidence: your current visa details and grant notice, with the identity or residence document requested for your application.
  • Flights: your UAE arrival and departure details, including any onward travel to Nepal.
  • Accommodation: your hotel booking or the details of the person you'll stay with.
  • Medical insurance: cover valid in the UAE for your visit.

GDRFA's tourist visa requirements confirm the passport, photograph, departure-ticket and insurance requirements. The application team can request additional evidence for your individual file.

Australian status is often checked electronically. If the form asks for a national ID or residency card and you don't have an Australian residence card, ask which document the team accepts with your visa evidence.

Check the Australian visa you'll return on

Before booking the return leg, open your current Australian visa record. Home Affairs' VEVO service lets visa holders check their conditions and share proof of their status. A document saved when a visa was first granted may not reflect a later change.

Dubai visa for Nepali students in Australia

A semester break doesn't change the UAE entry requirement. Prepare the Nepali passport and current student visa evidence, then check that the Dubai trip and return date fit your Australian visa conditions. An enrolment document may be useful if requested, but it doesn't replace your immigration record.

Work and temporary visa holders

Use the visa status that applies now. If a new visa has been granted since you made your travel plans, check the current record before uploading an older grant notice. Give your current Australian address and contact details when requested.

Dubai visa for Nepali Australian PR holders

PR does not change the nationality of your Nepali passport. Apply using that passport and check your Australian visa's overseas travel and return conditions before leaving.

Apply online with Nepal as your passport nationality

  1. Select Nepal. For Nepali passport holders in Australia, nationality is Nepal; enter Australia wherever your country of residence is requested.
  2. Choose the visit details. Enter your Dubai dates and select an available visa option that matches the stay and number of entries.
  3. Add the traveller and documents. Match the name, passport number and dates to the passport. Upload the cover, information page, photograph and requested supporting files.
  4. Review the application and total charge. Check each traveller's details, selected extras and terms before payment. Save the application reference for follow-up.

If approved, check the issued visa's passport number, entry deadline, number of entries and permitted stay. The last date to enter the UAE and the number of days you may stay are different details.

Stopping in Dubai before travelling to Nepal?

A connecting flight through Dubai doesn't automatically mean you need to enter the UAE. For example, on an Australia–Dubai–Kathmandu itinerary, an airside transfer can be different from spending two nights in the city.

  • Staying in the international transit area: a UAE entry visa is generally not needed for an airside connection. Confirm onward boarding and baggage arrangements with the airline.
  • Leaving the airport, collecting bags through immigration or changing between DXB and DWC: arrange the UAE entry permission your passport requires before travelling.

Dubai Airports explains separate-ticket baggage and airport transfers. For a short visit outside the airport, check an airline-sponsored transit visa; Emirates lists 48- and 96-hour options with its booking conditions.

Visa cost and when to apply

Check the current assisted-service prices, then confirm the total for your Nepali passport and chosen visa. Read the payment currency before checkout; a price shown in US dollars is not an Australian-dollar quote.

Start preparing once your travel dates are clear and ask when to submit the complete file. Leave room for document corrections or further immigration checks. Any processing estimate depends on the application; payment does not mean a visa has been approved.

Questions from Nepali residents in Australia

Do I need to return to Nepal to start the application?

No. You can start the online application while living in Australia. Use your Nepali passport and current Australian residence details, then follow any additional document or verification request for your file.

Does Australian PR replace a Dubai visa?

No. A Nepali passport holder does not receive automatic UAE visa on arrival through Australian PR. Arrange the entry visa for your visit and check your Australian return conditions separately.

Can I use VEVO as proof of Australian residence?

VEVO can show your current Australian visa details and conditions. Ask the application team which format and any additional identity document they need. It does not replace your passport or UAE visa.

What if I renewed my Nepali passport after my Australian visa was granted?

Use the passport you intend to travel with. Check that your current Australian record reflects that document, and tell the application team about the renewal before they submit the UAE application.

Can I add my partner or children to the application?

Use the option to add another traveller and enter each person's own passport details. Check each traveller's entry requirements separately, particularly if family members travel on different passports.

Do I need multiple entry if I visit Dubai on both legs of my trip?

If you enter the UAE, leave for Nepal and enter the UAE again, you need permission covering the second entry. Check an eligible multiple-entry visa or a new entry visa. Staying airside for the return connection is different from entering Dubai again.
