Dubai Visa for Turkish Residents in Ireland

If you live in Ireland and travel on an ordinary Turkish passport, arrange a UAE visa before entering Dubai. An Irish Residence Permit (IRP) does not remove that requirement. Turkish special, service and diplomatic passports have different exemption rules, so check the passport you will actually use before buying a visa.

For an application from Ireland, prepare your current passport and Irish residence evidence together. Check each family member separately if you hold different passport types.

Check your current passport before starting

Türkiye’s official UAE travel guidance states that ordinary passport holders need a visa. Special, service and diplomatic passport holders are exempt for visits of up to 90 days, subject to the applicable entry conditions.

This matters if your passport category has changed since your last Dubai trip. For example, someone now living in Ireland may previously have travelled with a special passport but now use an ordinary one. The earlier trip does not establish eligibility for the new document.

Send the details of your current travel document for the eligibility check. If your passport qualifies for an exemption, confirm the permitted visit with your airline before paying for an advance tourist visa.

Build your application with your Ireland details

For a UAE visa application as a Turkish resident in Ireland, nationality and residence are separate fields. Choose Türkiye or Turkey for passport nationality, according to the form’s label, and Ireland for your current country of residence.

Passport and photograph
Have a complete, readable passport details-page copy and a recent personal photo ready. GDRFA’s standard tourist visa conditions require a passport with at least six months’ validity.
Irish residence evidence
Keep both sides of your current IRP available if requested. Tell the application team about any pending renewal, passport replacement or change of permission.
Travel dates and departure arrangements
GDRFA requires an onward or departure ticket and medical insurance valid in the UAE. Give your actual itinerary, including the destination after Dubai, and have your accommodation or host details ready.
Supporting records, when requested
Ask which employment, study or family documents your file needs. Confirm whether any Turkish-language supporting document requires a translation and what format is accepted before arranging one.

Turkish names across passports, IRPs and bookings

Compare the spelling on your passport, Irish residence record and flight booking. If the application form will not accept a character in your name, ask the submission team how to enter it using your passport record. Do not guess a spelling or alter a scanned document. Explain any difference caused by marriage or a recent name change.

Dubai visa planning for Turkish IRP holders

Your IRP is evidence of permission to stay in Ireland. Irish Immigration Service Delivery states that an in-date IRP allows the holder to travel from and return to the State. Carry it with your valid passport and check its expiry against your return date.

Turkish students in Ireland

Place your Dubai visit within your study break and check whether your IRP will expire before you return. If you are moving from study to another permission, give your current status when applying rather than the status you expect to receive.

Turkish workers in Ireland

Keep your leave dates consistent with the Dubai itinerary. If employment evidence is requested after a job change, provide the current record. Your Irish employment permission does not itself authorise work in the UAE.

If your IRP is expiring or being renewed, confirm return-document requirements with Irish Immigration Service Delivery before leaving. A renewal acknowledgement should not be assumed to replace a valid card for boarding.

Visa options for a visit from Ireland

Once your need for an advance visa is confirmed, compare the stay and number of entries. Ask which option is available for your passport and circumstances before payment.

One family trip can involve different entry rules

A shared address in Ireland does not mean everyone needs the same UAE visa. List each traveller’s passport nationality and category when requesting a family review.

Illustrative example: two adults living in Dublin plan a week in Dubai. One uses an ordinary Turkish passport; the other uses a valid Turkish special passport. The first needs the advance visa route checked, while the second should confirm the applicable exemption. An Irish-passport child would need a separate passport-based check.

Review names and dates of birth individually. Ask what relationship or consent documents are required for any child travelling with one parent. If a passport is replaced before departure, have the affected booking and visa checked again.

Apply from Ireland in four steps

  1. Confirm the passport route. State your passport category, Irish residence status and planned dates. Check that the service accepts your application.
  2. Agree the option and price. Review the permitted stay, entries, total charge and any requested supporting documents.
  3. Submit your details. Complete the form using the travel passport, upload the requested files and keep your application reference.
  4. Review the issued visa. Check passport details, the deadline for entry and the permitted stay. Report an error before travelling.

Use the current assisted-service price guide for comparison, then confirm your total quote. Ask which currency will be charged and whether optional extras are included.

Request a processing estimate for your complete file. Additional checks can affect timing; payment does not guarantee approval or admission. The relevant UAE immigration authority makes those decisions.

Questions from Turkish residents in Ireland

Does an Irish IRP remove the visa requirement for an ordinary Turkish passport?

No. Irish residence does not by itself provide UAE visa on arrival for an ordinary Turkish passport. Arrange the advance visa required for your visit.

Can I start the application while living in Ireland?

Yes. You can start an online enquiry and prepare your documents from Ireland. Confirm that the application channel accepts your passport type and residence circumstances before submitting and paying.

What if I used a special Turkish passport on my previous Dubai trip?

Check the passport you will use now. An exemption associated with a previous special passport should not be assumed to apply if you now travel on an ordinary passport.

What if my Turkish name appears differently on my Irish IRP?

Tell the submission team about the difference and provide your current passport record. Ask Irish Immigration Service Delivery whether the residence record needs correcting. Do not change a document image to make the spelling match.

Does my spouse need the same visa because we both live in Ireland?

Not necessarily. Each person’s nationality and passport category must be checked. Ordinary and special Turkish passports can have different entry routes even within the same household.

Can I travel if my IRP renewal is still pending?

Confirm the documents required for your return with Irish Immigration Service Delivery before leaving. A UAE visa does not establish permission to re-enter Ireland, and a renewal acknowledgement should not be assumed sufficient for boarding.
