Dubai Visa for Pakistani Residents in Ireland
Pakistani ordinary passport holders living in Ireland need a UAE visa before entering Dubai for a tourist visit. An Irish Residence Permit (IRP) does not by itself give you visa on arrival. Check the application route available for your circumstances before paying.

- Pakistani passport: your travel document
- Use the passport you intend to present on the journey. Provide a clear details-page copy and a cover image if requested. For the standard tourist route, passport validity must be at least six months.
- Pakistani national ID: supporting identity evidence
- GDRFA lists a country-of-origin identity card for Pakistani tourist applicants. Ask the submission team which CNIC or NICOP copy is accepted for your case. An Irish residence card does not fulfil the same purpose.
- Irish IRP: evidence of your residence permission
- Have readable copies of both sides ready if requested. Check the expiry date against your return to Ireland. If your passport has changed since the card was issued, tell the team which details are current.
The official GDRFA tourist visa checklist also lists a personal photo, a departure or onward ticket and UAE-valid medical insurance. Keep your accommodation or host details ready for any supporting-document request.

Is Dubai the holiday, or a stop on your way to Pakistan?
The itinerary changes the entry and stay arrangements you need. Give the team all planned UAE visits, including a possible stop on your return to Ireland.
Example: Dublin → Dubai → Lahore → Dublin. If you enter Dubai for a short holiday before continuing to Lahore, your onward journey is to Pakistan. If you also enter the UAE on the way back, ask about a second entry; a single-entry visa does not automatically cover both visits.
If you only change flights in the international transit area, check your connection and baggage arrangements with the airline. A plan to collect bags through immigration, change airports or go into the city needs a separate UAE entry check.
