Dubai Visa for US Residents: Compare Prices and Apply Online

A Dubai Visa for US Residents application should start with the passport—not the US status alone. Select an option only after confirming that advance UAE entry permission is required.

Private assisted-service prices. Final eligibility and issuance are decided by the relevant UAE immigration authority.

Quick answer: A regular US citizen passport holder normally does not need an advance tourist visa for a personal visit of 30 days or less and can receive a no-fee visitor visa on arrival. A Green Card, H1B, F1, L1 or other US status does not give every foreign passport the same UAE entry right. For non-US citizens, the route depends mainly on passport nationality and whether a specific US-residence concession applies.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: Check Your Likely Route

Use this Dubai Visa for US Residents route checker by selecting the passport used for travel and your current US status. It provides guidance only; the airline and UAE immigration authorities make the final eligibility and entry decisions.

Important: a US visa stamp, I-797, I-20, I-94 or Green Card proves a type of US status; it is not automatically a UAE visa.

Who Needs a Dubai Visa from the United States?

The departure airport does not decide the UAE visa rule. The passport presented at airline check-in and UAE immigration is the starting point. US residence can affect a limited number of special routes, but it does not replace passport-based eligibility.

Traveller profileTypical entry routeImportant point
Regular US citizen passportNo-fee visitor visa on arrival for personal travel of 30 days or lessCarry a qualifying regular passport with at least six months’ validity and verify current rules before departure.
Green Card holder using a foreign passportPre-arranged tourist visa or a special residence-based route when eligibleA Green Card alone does not give every nationality visa-free entry.
H1B, L1 or F1 holderUsually assessed by passport; a limited concession may apply to specific nationalities and status documentsDo not assume a valid US visa equals automatic UAE entry.
Visitor in the US using B1/B2 or another visaPassport-based UAE ruleMerely applying from the USA does not create US-resident eligibility.
US refugee or travel document holderCase-specific advance reviewTravel-document recognition, return rights and airline acceptance must be checked before payment.
Correction to the old page: US citizens do not generally need to buy a pre-arranged tourist visa for a personal trip of 30 days or less when travelling on a qualifying regular US passport. The earlier blanket statement that US passport holders need a Dubai visa was incorrect.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: UAE Eligibility Requirements

Yes. Foreign nationals legally living, working or studying in the United States can start a UAE tourist visa from USA application online when their passport requires advance permission and DubaiVisa.com currently supports that nationality. Anyone searching for a UAE visa for US residents should check the passport nationality first and the US residence category second. Final issuance remains subject to UAE immigration assessment.

🛂

Passport first

The exact passport nationality determines whether advance permission, visa on arrival or visa-free entry applies.

🪪

US status second

A Green Card or qualifying US residence document can support a special route for selected passports but is not a universal waiver.

📆

Validity matters

The passport normally needs at least six months’ validity. Special routes can impose additional validity conditions on US visas or residence evidence.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Each family member

Mixed-passport families can have different entry routes. Check every adult and child separately before travel.

Selected residence-based route updated in June 2026: UAE ICP expanded eligibility for 14-day and 60-day entry visas to nationals of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa who hold a valid residence permit from the United States or another listed country. India was already included. The 14-day category may be extended once; the 60-day category is single-entry and non-extendable under that announcement.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: Tourist and Transit Visa Types

Dubai Visa for US Residents options include short transit permission and 14-, 30- or 60-day tourist services, subject to the applicant’s passport and current availability.

⏱️

48-Hour Transit Visa

For eligible travellers leaving the airport during a very short UAE stopover with onward travel.

🛬

96-Hour Transit Visa

For an eligible longer stopover before continuing to another destination.

📅

14-Day Tourist Visa

A short single-entry option for brief holidays, events or family visits where available.

🌴

30-Day Tourist Visa

The most common single-entry option for holidays, family visits and permitted short business meetings.

🗓️

60-Day Tourist Visa

For longer tourism or family stays, subject to passport eligibility and current availability.

🔁

Multiple Entry

Thirty- and sixty-day multiple-entry options may suit eligible travellers making several UAE trips.

Do I need a separate Abu Dhabi visa from USA?

No separate city-specific tourist visa is normally required. A valid UAE tourist visa can generally be used for permitted entry and travel in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the other Emirates, subject to its entry point and printed conditions. Travellers searching for an Abu Dhabi visa from USA should therefore check their UAE entry eligibility using the passport they will present at immigration.

Service scope: DubaiVisa.com provides tourist and transit visa assistance. These visas do not permit UAE employment. A 90-day tourist product is not currently offered through DubaiVisa.com.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: Required Documents

The document list for a Dubai Visa for US Residents application depends on the passport and US status. Start with clear, uncropped colour files and be prepared to supply additional evidence when immigration requests it.

  • Passport bio page with at least six months’ validity
  • Recent colour photograph on a plain white background
  • Passport cover marked “PASSPORT” where requested
  • Green Card front and back, if applying as a permanent resident
  • H1B or L1 evidence such as valid visa/status documents, I-797 and recent I-94 where requested
  • F1 evidence such as valid visa/status documents, I-20 and recent I-94 where requested
  • National identity card or residence document for applicable nationalities
  • Return or onward ticket, hotel or UAE host details if requested
  • Travel insurance valid for the UAE stay
  • Accessible email address and contact number for updates

Names, passport numbers and dates must match across every uploaded file. Cropped scans, glare, unreadable numbers and expired US-status evidence commonly cause document requests or delays.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: Fees and Standard Prices

These Dubai Visa for US Residents prices are DubaiVisa.com’s standard assisted-service prices in US dollars. They are private service prices—not government-only fees—and may include application handling, document review, submission support, updates and electronic delivery when a visa is issued.

Why can assisted-service prices be higher than a government fee? Government portals show authority charges for specific categories. A private service price can additionally cover route guidance, document checks, application handling, status support and case communication. Confirm the final checkout total before payment.
Refund and extra-cost note: Refunds are available only before submission. Once an application is submitted to immigration, the payment is non-refundable. Appeal, reapplication, extension, overstay or payment-provider charges are not included unless clearly shown.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: Processing Time

🕒

Standard

Normally targeted within 24–72 working hours after complete documents are accepted.

Express

Approximately 10–12 working hours when available for the passport and application profile.

🚀

Super Express

Approximately 6–12 working hours when offered. Confirm availability before selecting urgent handling.

No approval or timing guarantee: UAE immigration may request additional documents or conduct extra checks. Weekends, UAE public holidays, US holidays, peak travel seasons and incomplete files can extend processing.

Dubai Visa for US Residents by US Immigration Category

This Dubai Visa for US Residents pillar gives the overview. The dedicated cluster pages should answer the deeper questions for each status without repeating the complete pillar.

US citizens

For personal travel of 30 days or less, a US citizen with a qualifying regular passport can normally receive a no-fee visitor visa on arrival. A passport valid for at least six months is required. Diplomatic, official, emergency and nonstandard passports can follow different rules.

H1B and L1 visa holders

H1B or L1 status shows lawful US work authorization, but UAE entry is still assessed using the traveller’s passport. Prepare the current passport, visa/status evidence, I-797 approval and recent I-94 where requested. Indian passport holders may have a separate 14-day arrival route when the qualifying US visa or Green Card meets the current validity requirement.

F1 students

F1 students can apply online when the passport is supported. A valid US student visa/status record does not itself guarantee UAE entry. Prepare the passport, photograph, I-20 and recent I-94 where requested, and confirm return eligibility to the United States before travelling.

Other US visa holders

A US visitor or employment visa may matter only where a specific UAE concession says it does. Otherwise, the ordinary passport-nationality rule applies. A person temporarily visiting America is not automatically treated as a US resident.

US refugee or travel document holders

Do not submit until the exact travel document, nationality, UAE entry route and right to return to the United States have been reviewed. Carrier policies and immigration recognition can be document-specific.

Dubai Visa for US Residents by Passport Nationality

Use the nationality shown on the passport. Until every USA-specific cluster page is published, the cards below route travellers to an existing dedicated guide or the relevant nationality/application page.

Service restriction: DubaiVisa.com does not currently process Bangladeshi or Afghan passports. Do not accept payment for these passport nationalities through this service.

Apply for a Dubai Visa from Major US Cities and States

The process is online. Your city or state does not change UAE eligibility, but these location signals help US residents understand that they can apply without visiting a physical office.

Common Application Mistakes and Rejection Risks

🔍

Choosing by US status only

Green Card, H1B and F1 status do not replace the passport-nationality check.

📷

Blurred or cropped uploads

Missing passport edges, glare, shadows or unreadable numbers can trigger document requests.

✍️

Data mismatch

Names, dates, passport numbers and nationality details must match the uploaded documents.

📆

Expired status evidence

Do not rely on an expired visa stamp, Green Card, I-20, I-797 or I-94 when current proof is requested.

🧳

Wrong visa purpose

A tourist or transit visa is not for UAE employment, paid work or residence.

Applying too late

Allow additional time for holidays, family applications, extra screening and document corrections.

Can US Residents Extend a Dubai Tourist Visa?

Some visit and tourist permits may be extended by the issuing authority, but the answer depends on the visa category and current immigration rules. GDRFA states that eligible 30- or 60-day tourist entry permits can be extended within the authority’s limits, while the June 2026 ICP residence-based announcement states that its 14-day category may be extended once and its 60-day category is non-extendable.

Do not wait until expiry: Check the authority printed on the issued visa, permitted stay, extension eligibility, fees and processing time before the current permission ends. Extension approval is not guaranteed.

Dubai Visa for US Residents: Frequently Asked Questions

Do US citizens need a visa for Dubai?

A US citizen using a qualifying regular passport can normally receive a no-fee visitor visa on arrival for personal travel of 30 days or less. Confirm passport validity and current UAE rules before flying. Diplomatic, official, emergency or nonstandard passports may follow different rules.

Can Green Card holders get a Dubai visa?

Yes. A Green Card holder using a foreign passport can apply for a pre-arranged UAE tourist visa when required. Some nationalities may qualify for a special residence-based route, but a Green Card is not a universal visa exemption.

Can H1B visa holders apply for a Dubai visa?

Yes, when the passport nationality is supported. H1B status may be requested as US residence evidence, but ordinary UAE eligibility is still passport-based. A special route may apply only when the nationality and status conditions are met.

Can F1 students apply from the United States?

Yes. Supported passport holders with valid F1 status can apply online. Prepare the passport, photograph and current US student-status evidence such as the I-20 and I-94 when requested.

Is a US visa enough to enter Dubai?

Not for every nationality. A US visa matters only where a specific UAE concession accepts it. Otherwise, the traveller needs the entry permission required for the passport nationality.

Does a US Green Card guarantee visa on arrival?

No. It can support a special visa-on-arrival or residence-based route for selected nationalities, but every condition must be met. Other passport holders may still need a pre-arranged UAE visa.

How long does Dubai visa processing take from the USA?

DubaiVisa.com normally targets standard processing within 24–72 working hours after accepting complete documents. Express or Super Express services may be available, but no timeframe guarantees issuance.

How much is a Dubai tourist visa from the USA?

DubaiVisa.com’s standard assisted-service prices are US$122 for a 14-day single-entry visa, US$125 for 30 days and US$220 for 60 days. Transit and multiple-entry options have different prices. Availability depends on passport eligibility.

Can families apply together?

Yes, but each adult and child needs an individual passport and the correct UAE entry route. Mixed-nationality families should check every passport separately before submitting.

Do I need to visit a UAE embassy in the United States?

Most supported tourist and transit applications through DubaiVisa.com are completed online. An embassy visit is not normally required, although special travel documents or cases may need additional verification.

Do I need a separate Abu Dhabi visa from USA?

No separate city-specific tourist visa is normally required. A valid UAE tourist visa is generally usable for permitted entry and travel across the seven Emirates, subject to the entry point and conditions printed on the issued visa. It is not restricted to Dubai sightseeing.

Can I extend my Dubai visa in the UAE?

Some tourist visas can be extended, depending on the issued category and current authority rules. Check extension eligibility before the visa expires because approval and fees vary.

Can I work in Dubai using a tourist visa?

No. Tourist and transit visas do not permit UAE employment or paid work. A separate employer-sponsored work authorization and residence process is required.

Is Dubai visa approval guaranteed for US residents?

No. US residence, document review and paid assistance cannot guarantee visa issuance or entry. The final decision belongs to the relevant UAE immigration authority.
